About The Position

The Regional Medical Scientific Director (RMSD) - Cardiovascular & Metabolism is a credentialed therapeutic and disease expert who engages in scientific exchange with leaders in the external medical and scientific community. RMSDs provide balanced, factual scientific information about non-product areas of interest to the company and respond to scientific questions from scientific leaders, including questions about company products. The role aligns with the pillars of Scientific Exchange, Clinical Research, Scientific Congress Support, and Scientific Insights, and covers Michigan and Northern Ohio. The RMSD develops professional relationships with external scientific leaders, conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions, answers scientific questions, and directs inquiries outside the role's scope to appropriate company resources. Scientific exchange is non-promotional; the role has no sales objectives or accountability and does not provide advice about the diagnosis or treatment of specific patients. The RMSD serves as a liaison between the scientific community and the company for company-sponsored clinical trials and investigator-sponsored research. When requested, the RMSD may help identify enrollment and retention barriers, recommend trial sites and investigators, address investigator questions, and discuss the scientific rationale and strategic alignment of research. The role also supports scientific congresses through preparation, scientific and data exchange, insight collection, and exhibit-booth staffing as applicable. The RMSD gathers feedback about medical and scientific needs and priorities, and serves as a role model for field medical colleagues, including through onboarding and therapeutic training. This is a remote, territory-based position. The candidate must reside in Michigan or Northern Ohio and be able to travel up to 50%.
