About The Position

The Regional Medical Scientific Director (RMSD) - Cardiovascular & Metabolism is a credentialed therapeutic and disease expert who engages in scientific exchange with leaders in the external medical and scientific community. The RMSD provides balanced, factual scientific information about non-product areas of interest to the company and responds to scientific questions, including questions about company products. The work aligns to four core pillars: Scientific Exchange, Clinical Research, Scientific Congress Support, and Scientific Insights. The role covers Northern California and Nevada and is remote; the employee must reside in the territory and may travel up to 50%. The RMSD has no sales objectives or accountability for prescribing or sales, does not make promotional claims, and may not advise on diagnosis or treatment of a specific patient. The RMSD builds professional relationships with regional and national scientific leaders, conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions, responds to scientific inquiries within role scope, and maintains current scientific knowledge through company-directed education and training. The role supports clinical research by liaising between the scientific community and the company, helping communicate the scientific foundations and goals of company-sponsored trials and investigator-sponsored research. At request, the RMSD may help identify enrollment and retention barriers, study sites, and potential investigators, and engage with investigators about study participation and research alignment. The RMSD supports scientific congresses through preparation, scientific and data exchange, insight collection, and exhibit booth staffing as applicable. Routine activities also include gathering feedback on medical and scientific needs and serving as a role model for field medical colleagues through onboarding or therapeutic training. The position requires adherence to applicable field and corporate policies, GMSA strategy, SOPs, Good Clinical Practice guidelines, and administrative and operational responsibilities.
