The Regional Medical Scientific Director (RMSD) - Cardiovascular & Metabolism is a credentialed therapeutic and disease expert who engages in scientific exchange with leaders in the external medical and scientific community. RMSDs provide balanced, factual scientific information about non-product areas of interest to the company and respond to scientific questions, including questions about company products. The role is aligned to four core pillars: Scientific Exchange, Clinical Research, Scientific Congress Support, and Scientific Insights. This remote position covers Northern California and Nevada, and the employee must reside in the territory. Travel may be up to 50%. The role requires a valid driver's license. Through scientific exchange, the RMSD builds professional relationships with national and regional scientific leaders, conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions, addresses scientific questions, and directs inquiries outside the role’s scope to appropriate company resources. Scientific exchange excludes promotional claims. RMSDs have no sales objectives or accountability for prescribing or sales and may not advise on the diagnosis or treatment of a specific patient. For clinical research, the RMSD serves as a liaison between the scientific community and the company, supporting understanding of the scientific foundations and goals of company-sponsored trials and investigator-sponsored studies. At the request of relevant company teams, the role may identify enrollment and retention barriers, recommend study sites, identify potential investigators, respond to investigator questions, and discuss scientific alignment with research strategies and study concepts. The RMSD supports scientific congresses through preparation, scientific and data exchange covering company and competitor data, insight collection, and exhibit-booth staffing as applicable. The role also gathers feedback and information about healthcare practitioner and patient needs, priorities, and concerns. The RMSD is expected to serve as a role model for field medical colleagues, including through onboarding and therapeutic training. The position requires adherence to company policies and strategy, field standard operating procedures, Good Clinical Practice guidelines, and administrative and operational responsibilities. The successful candidate is eligible for an annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable. Employee status is regular; relocation and visa sponsorship are not offered.
