About The Position

WinnCompanies is seeking a Regional Maintenance Technician to join their team. This role involves splitting time between Preserve North in Peabody, MA, and multiple other sites in the North Shore area of Massachusetts. The position may be assigned to any property within the portfolio and requires working at multiple sites in the Boston area based on need. The technician will be responsible for performing maintenance functions in assigned communities, including rental units, common areas, offices, grounds, and parking lots. A key aspect of this role is leading and training other maintenance technicians on the team. The pay range for this position is $31.00 to $34.00 per hour, depending on experience. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
  • General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory with occasional overnight stay.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
  • Availability for on-call activity during off hours for urgent needs.
  • Ability to speak and understand basic English.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational or technical training.
  • Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT).

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, problem solve, and make repairs in areas such as appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC.
  • Lead and train other maintenance technicians.
  • Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating procedures.
  • Ensure vacant apartments are prepared for occupancy and market ready in accordance with company standards.
  • Assist Maintenance Supervisor in leading and assisting the completion of the preventive maintenance program, building and safety inspections and annual unit inspections.
  • Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping and trash management activities.
  • Be available for on-call activity during off-hours and emergencies based on a pre-determined schedule and need.
