Under general direction, assists in planning and coordination of emergency management initiatives throughout the region. Works with TDEM staff, Incident Support Task Force (ISTF) contract members, and stakeholders to perform highly complex (senior-level) consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, governmental agencies, community organizations, or the general public. Work involves marketing, engagement, recruitment and maintenance of the ISTF member contract program while also participating in the planning, developing, researching, training, and evaluation of processes. Responding and coordinating with ISTF contract members to assist jurisdictions in recovering from an emergency or a disaster and to foster resilient communities. Trains, leads, and/or prioritizes the workload of others. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Availability for after-hours and weekend work is required. Must have the ability to operate outside of regular working hours during activations in the field, DDEOC, or State Operations Center, and able to deploy from their assigned duty station for extended periods in the aftermath of a disaster without relief or with minimal rest. Salary is a fixed rate. This position is located on-site and not subject to telecommuting.
