About The Position

The Task Force Manager is a key leadership resource responsible for providing operational support, stability, and strategic execution across our portfolio of hotels. This role is designed for an experienced hotel leader who can quickly step into varying property needs, provide immediate operational leadership, support teams through transitions, and execute critical business priorities. This leader will rotate among our hotels based on business needs, including PTO coverage, open leadership positions, operational support, new initiatives, special projects, performance improvement plans, and other company priorities. This position requires a highly adaptable leader who thrives in a changing environment, can quickly build trust with teams, and has the ability to assess a hotel’s needs and make an immediate impact. Potential Locations Include: Gastonia, NC Belmont, NC Charlotte, NC Mooresville, NC Fort Mill, SC Columbia, SC Additional locations as business needs require.

Requirements

  • Previous General Manager or AGM experience in a select-service or full-service hotel environment preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, drive results, and manage through change.
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations, guest experience, labor management, financial performance, and brand compliance.
  • Experience working with IHG, Hilton, Marriott, or similar major hotel brands preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, and brand standards.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel between assigned properties as needed.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to support wherever needed are critical success factors.
  • Must be comfortable stepping into unfamiliar environments and creating immediate impact.

  • Candidates without direct experience in all brands must demonstrate the ability to quickly learn systems, standards, and brand expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as acting General Manager during leadership transitions, PTO coverage, vacancies, and periods of increased business need.
  • Provide hands-on leadership and accountability across all hotel departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Sales, Revenue, and Food & Beverage (where applicable).
  • Quickly assess operational opportunities and implement action plans to improve guest satisfaction, team engagement, financial performance, and brand standards.
  • Maintain strong visibility with guests and team members while creating a culture of hospitality excellence.
  • Lead assigned projects and initiatives with clear ownership, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
  • Support hotels through openings, renovations, transitions, audits, inspections, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Assist property leadership teams with process improvement, training, staffing strategies, and execution of company initiatives.
  • Provide objective observations and recommendations to ownership and senior leadership.
  • Coach and develop department leaders and emerging talent.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and succession planning efforts.
  • Help stabilize teams during leadership changes while maintaining morale and engagement.
  • Partner with Regional Leadership to identify opportunities and provide solutions.
  • Ensure consistent execution of brand standards, operating procedures, and guest experience expectations.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel technology platforms, operational systems, and financial expectations.
