Requirements

  • 5+ years of facilities, building maintenance, equipment maintenance, or related experience, preferably in a multi-site commercial environment.
  • Strong hands-on technical knowledge of general building maintenance, including carpentry, painting, drywall, tile, and related repairs.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose facility problems and determine appropriate repair solutions.
  • Experience managing work orders, preventative maintenance programs, vendors, and repair priorities.
  • Strong computer and technology skills with the ability to effectively use a computerized maintenance management/work-order platform such as ServiceChannel.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clubs, competing priorities, emergency situations, and time-sensitive repairs.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to regularly travel throughout an assigned region.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to after-hours or emergency situations when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous leadership experience managing facilities or maintenance technicians.

  • Pool Operator certification/license or related aquatic facility experience.
  • Relevant facilities, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, or maintenance certifications.
  • Experience managing vendors, renovation projects, capital projects, and maintenance budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee facility and fitness equipment maintenance across an assigned portfolio of health clubs.
  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable regional Facility and Equipment Technicians, including hiring, training, scheduling, workload management, and performance.
  • Serve as the primary regional point of contact for significant facility, building-system, and fitness equipment issues.
  • Partner closely with club leadership and the Facilities and Equipment Maintenance teams to minimize downtime and disruption to members.
  • Support the company's continued growth by helping establish scalable maintenance practices, standards, and processes for existing and new locations.
  • Manage facility and equipment repair and maintenance workflows through ServiceChannel, ensuring work orders are appropriately prioritized, assigned, completed, and documented.
  • Conduct regular club inspections to proactively identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and hazardous conditions.
  • Drive preventative maintenance programs designed to extend asset life, reduce emergency repairs, and improve club reliability.
  • Monitor open work orders, recurring issues, response times, repair quality, and vendor performance.
  • Coordinate after-hours and emergency repairs as needed.
  • Provide technical leadership and quality control for repairs involving carpentry, drywall, painting, tile, and general building maintenance, commercial plumbing systems, commercial electrical systems, mechanical and building systems, and fitness equipment repair and preventative maintenance.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure repairs meet company standards and address the root cause of the issue.
  • Determine when work should be completed by internal technicians versus external vendors.
  • Ensure technicians use appropriate tools, equipment, and safe work practices.
  • Manage regional vendors and coordinate larger repairs, specialty services, and renovation projects.
  • Partner with club leadership and vendors to schedule work while minimizing disruption to club operations and the member experience.
  • Assist with planning and execution of capital expenditure projects and major repairs.
