About The Position
Clean Harbors is hiring a Regional/OTR Class A Dry Van Driver based in Cohoes, New York, or Reidsville, North Carolina. The route runs between Cohoes and Reidsville, and Syracuse, New York, and Reidsville, with additional travel to states including Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and New Jersey, before returning to New York. Drivers cover approximately 2,800 miles weekly and have weekly home time. Compensation includes hourly pay for all on-duty non-driving time and mileage pay; overnight trips include a daily per diem. Drivers average $90,000–$110,000 per year, and a $7,500 sign-on bonus is available. The driver operates tractor-trailer units and other vehicles, transports hazardous and non-hazardous waste, and is responsible for safe loading, unloading, and securing of cargo. The role requires compliance with safety practices, applicable weight limits, vehicle placarding regulations, and recordkeeping requirements. Requirements
- Class A commercial driver's license (CDL).
- At least 12 months of Class A driving experience.
- HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements.
- Ability to effectively use required technology, including mobile applications and computer software.
Responsibilities
- Comply with safe work practices, policies, and processes, and act safely at all times.
- Operate tractor-trailer units and other vehicles.
- Adhere to weight limits and ensure proper utilization of units.
- Ensure hazardous and non-hazardous waste is properly loaded and unloaded, and secure loads appropriately.
- Placard vehicles according to company and Department of Transportation requirements and regulations.
- Maintain daily logs, time sheets, expense reports, dispatch and trip reports, and vehicle inspection reports.
