About The Position

Family owned for over 60 years, Lakes Gas is among the largest propane providers in the Midwest. This role operates with a small-town, local feel, with employees who live in the communities they serve. The Regional Branch Manager role has a wide scope of responsibilities that encompass a larger market area. This position covers Miltona, MN and Richmond, MN Lakes Gas locations. This is a promoted position and will have a larger scope of responsibility inclusive of all Branch Manager functions with added duties including: Larger, More Diverse Market Area, Larger Asset Responsibility, Larger Leadership Role to Direct Employee Responsibilities, Support to Assist Other Branches as Directed, All Spare Company Vehicles and Excess Customer Tanks Under Regional Branch Manager Control.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of: NFPA 58 Codes, NFPA 54 Codes, DOT Federal and State Codes and Laws, CFR 49 – Jurisdictional Pipeline as needed.
  • 10 ton road.
  • High ground free of water problems.
  • Access to actual market.
  • Typically 20-30 mile by air from main office.
  • Place in a location that is not at the outside fringe of the market.
  • Consider locating near a town that is not served by natural gas.
  • Electrical power readily available.
  • Prefer to own the land, try not to lease.
  • Minimum ½ acre lot, prefer 1 acre.

  • Conducting sales, safety, maintenance, customer service, employee scheduling, training, reviewing and extend support to other company needs.

  • Supports for piping, pumps and hose.
  • Ensure domestic tanks are blocked, accessible, properly stored and ready.
  • Ensure gates, fencing, locks are in a high state of security and functionality.
  • Ensure electric lighting, switches, conduit, outlets are up to code and well maintained.
  • Ensure storage tank, manual valving, pneumatic valves, relief valves and Emergency Shutdown valves are fully functional, code compliant and well maintained.
  • Strategically looks to improve the service area.
  • Assess how to better schedule customer needs: Tank Sizing, Clustering of unique accounts.
  • Delivery/Service software integration.
  • Bulk storage reloading points to effectively manage customer needs and company expenses.
  • Maximize the use of Company Equipment.
  • Reduce the cost of physical delivery.
  • Help the company to reach more market share.
  • Ensure visual reminder that we are here.
  • Reduce the pressure off the driver.
  • Must be up to date on all current technology the company is using.
  • Must be open to and willing to learn new technology Lakes Gas is looking to implement.
  • Must be able to teach managers under their region all technology in company use.
  • Will be responsible for all technological devices in your region.
  • Liquid propane accountability.
  • Bulk Storage accountability.
  • Bobtail Storage accountability.
  • Cylinder Float accountability.
  • Merchandise management; mark up and accountability.
  • Ensure company tanks/cylinder and equipment meets expectation.
  • Manage customer lease of equipment.
  • Tank/equipment asset performance (rent).
  • Maintenance and care of all containers.
  • Field maintenance, meet OEI compliance.
  • Yard maintenance, meet OEI compliance.
  • Readiness to deploy.
  • Tank/cylinder evacuation of pressurized gas.
  • Yard counts accurate and consolidated.
  • Stored as close to plant as possible.
