About The Position

Publix is seeking a Refrigeration Technician 3 to join its Facilities Refrigeration team serving Monroe County and the Florida Keys. In this full-time role, you will provide expert support to retail refrigeration operations by carrying out HVAC repairs, maintenance, rack refrigeration general maintenance, and some routine general refrigeration service requests for retail stores. You will use expert trade knowledge to help maintain the quality and reliability of refrigeration systems, independently resolve complex issues, and train and mentor Refrigeration Technician 1s and 2s. The role also involves maintaining an accurate parts inventory, performing housekeeping duties, participating in special refrigeration projects for retail facilities, and assisting with corporate project implementation.

The position requires a flexible schedule that may include nights and weekends, travel with overnight stays, and participation in an on-call rotation. It involves physical tasks such as lifting, lowering, climbing ladders, and walking on roofs.

Requirements

• Completion of HVAC or Refrigeration trade school, or equivalent experience.
• Five years working in supermarket refrigeration service or two years as a Refrigeration Technician 2.
• EPA Universal License.
• At least 20 years old.
• Valid driver license.
• Advanced electrical circuit troubleshooting skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of EMS systems, such as Danfoss and Emerson.
• Ability to lift, lower, and climb ladders, and walk on roofs.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and to travel with overnight stays.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

Nice To Haves

• Seven years working in supermarket refrigeration service or four years as a Refrigeration Technician 2.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and perform HVACR repairs and general maintenance on refrigeration systems and equipment in retail environments, including complex issues.
• Perform rack refrigeration general maintenance and some routine general refrigeration maintenance service requests for retail stores.
• Independently use expert knowledge to service equipment.
• Train and mentor Refrigeration Technician 1s and 2s on all aspects of performing service on equipment.
• Perform housekeeping duties, including maintaining an accurate parts inventory.
• Participate in special refrigeration projects for retail facilities.
• Assist with implementation of corporate projects.
