About The Position
Publix is seeking a Refrigeration Technician 3 to join its Facilities Refrigeration team. The role supports retail refrigeration operations by performing HVAC repair, maintenance, rack refrigeration general maintenance, and routine general refrigeration maintenance service requests for retail stores. The technician independently evaluates and performs repairs, including complex issues, using expert trade knowledge, and helps maintain the quality and reliability of refrigeration systems. The position is a full-time Publix associate role. Candidates must reside in Polk County, Florida.
Requirements
- Completion of HVAC or Refrigeration trade school, or equivalent experience.
- Five years working in supermarket refrigeration service or two years as a Refrigeration Technician 2.
- EPA Universal License.
- At least 20 years old and a valid driver's license.
- Advanced electrical circuit troubleshooting skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of EMS systems, such as Danfoss and Emerson.
- Ability to lift, lower, climb ladders, and walk on roofs.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and travel with overnight stays.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
- Must reside in Polk County.

- Seven years working in supermarket refrigeration service or four years as a Refrigeration Technician 2.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and perform HVACR repairs and general maintenance on retail refrigeration systems and equipment, including complex issues, independently using expert knowledge.
- Train and mentor Refrigeration Technician 1s and 2s on service procedures for all equipment.
- Perform housekeeping duties, including maintaining accurate parts inventory.
- Participate in special refrigeration projects for retail facilities and assist with implementing corporate projects.
