About The Position

The Referral Coordinator/HIMS schedules and pre-registers patients for exams and procedures with specialists and providers outside the primary care physician’s office. The role performs varied, moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer-support assignments, including computations. Work is typically semi-routine and involves gathering and communicating relevant information and preparation instructions to patients and referring providers. Decisions generally involve interpreting department policies and methods for completing assignments. The coordinator works within defined expectations and quality standards, with some latitude to prioritize and time assignments and some discretion to interpret or deviate from standard policies. This is a patient-facing role at the Care Center at 1332 S Plano Rd, Suite 550, Richardson, TX 75081. The position is part of the company’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program, and selected candidates must be screened for TB. The role reports to the Supervisor, Medical Referrals.

Requirements

Two years of hands-on healthcare experience in a clinical setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Proficiency with medical terminology.
Experience with Electronic Medical Records.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare or Business Administration.
Bilingual English/Spanish.
Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
Referral experience.
