Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist

Renegade Materials CorporationMiamisburg, OH
$50,000 - $60,000

About The Position

Renegade Materials is seeking a Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist to manage the recruiting and onboarding process, aiming to build a more structured candidate and new hire experience. This role is not high-volume but involves recruiting for varied and specialized positions across manufacturing, technical, engineering, commercial, and professional fields. The specialist will partner with hiring managers, develop recruiting strategies, source candidates, and make recommendations. Additionally, the role will contribute to developing new hire orientation, onboarding processes, college relationships, and the co-op program. As part of a growing aerospace materials manufacturer, there's an opportunity to learn about customer contracts and commercial operations, with prior contracts experience not being a requirement as training will be provided. This position may require access to export-controlled information or technology, and applicants must be eligible under U.S. export control laws.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of in-house recruiting, talent acquisition, or comparable recruiting experience.
  • Experience independently managing multiple stages of the recruiting process.
  • Experience partnering directly with hiring managers rather than primarily processing large volumes of applicants.
  • Demonstrated ability to source candidates rather than relying exclusively on incoming applications.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar positions and translate what you learn into an effective recruiting strategy.
  • Strong interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, communication, and attention to detail.
  • Sound judgment and the confidence to make recommendations and work independently.
  • Comfortable learning and working in HRIS, ATS, and other business systems.
  • Interest in building processes and improving how work gets done.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience recruiting for manufacturing, engineering, technical, aerospace/defense, or other specialized positions is a plus.
  • Experience with college recruiting, Paycor, Epicor, contracts, or FAR/DFARS is also helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Own recruiting from approved opening through accepted offer and onboarding.
  • Meet with hiring managers to understand the position, team, required skills, and what makes someone successful in the role.
  • Develop the recruiting and sourcing strategy for each opening, including where and how to advertise positions.
  • Source candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, social media, college relationships, referrals, and other appropriate channels.
  • Review applications and conduct initial candidate interviews to determine who should advance in the process.
  • Coordinate interviews, assessments, offers, pre-employment activities, and new hire onboarding.
  • Write and maintain job postings that accurately represent the position and attract the right candidates.
  • Help build and facilitate a consistent new hire orientation and onboarding experience.
  • Manage our college co-op program and develop relationships with colleges, universities, and other early-career talent sources.
  • Support recruiting-related HRIS activities, reporting, and HR projects.
  • Learn Renegade's contract administration process and review customer purchase orders, agreements, and related documents for items requiring additional internal review.
  • Coordinate contract requirements and open items with Sales and other internal teams.
  • Support NDAs, customer documentation, and contract recordkeeping.
