About The Position

Volition Capital is a Boston-based growth equity firm seeking a Recruiter to support its talent function, which handles executive searches for approximately 40 portfolio companies. This role is crucial for providing the necessary sourcing and early-screening capacity to keep pace with the demands of the searches. The individual will be responsible for the initial stages of the search process, including building candidate lists, conducting outreach, running initial screens, and maintaining an organized pipeline. This is a junior position with significant responsibility, serving as a primary point of contact for candidates and representing Volition's talent brand. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, curious about executive search, and eager to develop search skills within a small, high-trust team.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of recruiting experience, agency or in-house.
  • Manages high-volume outreach and follow-up without dropping details.
  • Detail-oriented — pipeline hygiene and scheduling accuracy are non-negotiable, not afterthoughts.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment; treats pipeline throughput and candidate quality as personal accountability.
  • Proactively flags status and pipeline health to stakeholders without being asked.
  • Clear, professional communicator — with candidates and senior stakeholders alike.
  • Eager to learn a structured, senior-level hiring methodology and grow into more responsibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in executive search within a growth equity or investment firm context.
  • Familiarity with B2B technology companies.
  • Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter and applicant tracking systems.

Responsibilities

  • Source candidates for open portfolio company searches through LinkedIn, targeted outreach, and referral networks.
  • Build and maintain candidate longlists calibrated to each search's scorecard.
  • Conduct initial outreach that represents Volition's talent brand accurately and professionally.
  • Run initial phone or video screens to assess baseline fit before candidates advance to senior-level interviews.
  • Keep the applicant tracking system accurate and current for every active search.
  • Coordinate scheduling for later-stage interviews across candidates, portfolio company interviewers, and Volition leadership.
  • Support the Senior Manager, Talent with market research, compensation benchmarking, and JD drafting on active searches.
  • Take notes and track themes across candidate conversations to inform later-stage interview questions.
  • Flag risks or gaps in a pipeline early, rather than waiting for a search to stall.
  • Maintain clean, current pipeline data across every search in flight.
  • Communicate with candidates promptly and professionally at every stage, including when the answer is no.
  • Bring real pace and intensity to the work, matching the company's fast-paced energy.
  • Contribute directly to team metrics: searches completed per quarter, hitting new-hire targets without compromising quality, and strong retention outcomes.
  • Proactively communicate pipeline status and candidate updates to stakeholders — portfolio company contacts and internal Volition staff — before anyone has to ask.

Benefits

  • A ground-floor seat learning executive search inside a structured, disciplined program.
  • Direct mentorship from Volition's talent leadership on live, senior-level searches.
  • A clear growth path toward more senior recruiting responsibility as the function scales.
  • Exposure to a growth-stage investment firm and its portfolio of roughly 40 companies.
