About The Position

The Police Athletic League (PAL) is New York City’s largest independent youth development organization, operating a wide range of programs from early childhood education to youth employment and juvenile justice initiatives. This Recruiter position will support the Human Resources team in recruiting staff for the organization’s after-school and summer youth programs. Working closely with the HR Manager and full-time recruiter, this role assists with sourcing, screening, and coordinating candidates to help ensure programs are adequately staffed with qualified individuals.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in recruitment, HR support, or administrative coordination preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with applicant tracking systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruiting efforts for after-school and summer program positions, including Group Leaders, Activity Specialists, and other center support staff.
  • Post and maintain job listings across recruitment platforms.
  • Review applications and conduct initial candidate screenings.
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate communication between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Support recruitment events, job fairs, and community outreach efforts.
  • Maintain accurate applicant tracking records and recruitment documentation.
  • Assist with onboarding coordination, including collecting required paperwork and tracking required clearances.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR and recruitment team as needed.
