About The Position

St. John’s Community Services (SJCS) is seeking a Recruiter to join their team. This entry-level position will focus on sourcing quality candidates, confirming their qualifications, and placing them in open roles for the agency. The Recruiter will report to the Human Resources Manager and collaborate to ensure staffing needs are met, supporting SJCS's vision and mission of advancing inclusive communities where every person has the opportunity to thrive. SJCS supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as adults and children experiencing hunger and homelessness across four states and the District of Columbia.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • Excellent cooperation skills in team orientation and flexibility when needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to be a team player who is detail-oriented, a multi-tasker, and a problem-solver.
  • Obtain a valid health certificate to meet current funding authority requirements as required.
  • Having a valid state-issued driver's license with a current driving record in good standing is required.
  • Meet SJCS and the funding authority requirement of criminal background and record checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Business or HR (preferred).
  • Up to two years of recruiting experience (preferred).
  • Willing to train the right person without experience.
  • Experience and knowledge in Paycom, Microsoft Teams, One Drive, and Google Drive.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with hiring managers and staffing coordinators to determine staffing needs.
  • Sources resumes and job applications, conducts screening interviews of candidates by phone, in teams, or in person, and schedules interviews with the hiring manager.
  • Administers appropriate assessments, checks references, makes recommendations for hire, and delivers employment offers.
  • Uses traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, job fairs, community network events, online platforms, and social media, to identify and attract quality candidates.
  • Builds and maintains a strong candidate pipeline for current and future job openings.
  • Manages the internal transfer process, including screening, coordination of interviews with the hiring manager, and transfer offer letters.
  • Utilizes Paycom's applicant tracking system to manage candidates' progress and activity.
  • Follows up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding the recruiting process and status.
  • Develops and maintains excellent relationships with internal and external clients to ensure the achievement of staffing goals.
  • Communicates important employment information during the delivery of employment offers (e.g., benefits, compensation, noncompete agreements).
  • Works with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance.
  • Manages application and resume files and retention according to company policy.
  • Maintains memberships and affiliations with trade/professional organizations related to the industry.
