About The Position

The Recreation Attendant will be responsible for the operations of the Bayview Pool Complex and beach operations at the South Seas resort. This role involves setting up and maintaining pool and beach areas, assisting guests with rentals, ensuring safety, and providing excellent customer service. The attendant will manage guest issues, monitor inventory, and contribute to the overall guest experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license.
Fluent in English language; must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
Ability to multitask.
Ability to show initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.
Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations – fast-paced environment.
Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
Effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns or issues raised by coworkers and/or guests.
Teamwork is essential and critical in this role.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to work in different types of weather, sometimes extreme, including high temperatures and humidity.

Responsibilities

Setting up pool seating and umbrellas, and removing trash and other items from the pool area.
Stocking and handing out fresh towels.
Directing people in a courteous manner and ensuring they follow directions when working the water slides, with safety as a priority.
Attending to cabana rentals, providing a clean and safe environment for guests.
Offering chairs, umbrellas, and towels to guests at the beach.
Greeting and checking in guests in a pleasant and professional manner, escorting them to their preferred area, and providing clean towels.
Maintaining and upholding the cleanliness of the beach.
Enforcing safety rules and regularly checking that equipment is functioning properly.
Answering guest questions, providing solutions to their problems, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
Taking down and storing beach equipment and keeping a safe environment while following company policies.
Monitoring the day-to-day operations of the Resort Pool Complex and beach operations/services.
Overseeing the cabana rental programs.
Managing all guest issues as they pertain to the pool areas and reporting equipment or pool malfunctions to respective departments.
Working on the water slides.
Reporting any deficiencies to superiors.
Monitoring inventory of cabana supplies and placing orders accordingly.
Assisting with monitoring inventory of pool and beach towels, lounge chairs, and umbrellas.
Keeping all areas neat, clean, and in good repair at all times.
Enforcing safety and operating procedures and providing for maintenance needs in compliance with health and safety standards.
Providing great public relations and being knowledgeable of resort happenings.
Directly involved with hurricane preparedness and other extreme weather conditions.
Assisting in the development, recommendation, and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards for the resort.
Attending company meetings whenever necessary.
Assisting and advising where needed with all recreational needs throughout the department, including the pool, beach, daily activities, special events, and group events.
