Recreation Aide - Heather Heights
About The Position
Heather Heights is hiring a full-time Recreation Aide for 30 hours per week or a part-time Recreation Aide for 20 hours per week. The role includes working every other weekend. The Recreation Aide interacts with residents respectfully and empathetically, learns their needs and limitations, and plans and leads engaging activities suited to varied interests and abilities. Activities may include arts and crafts, games, exercise programs, music sessions, outings, holidays, and special events. The aide encourages participation and social interaction, monitors engagement and activity outcomes, and provides individualized attention and planning based on residents’ needs and interests.

Responsibilities
- Interact with residents and understand their needs and limitations with respect and empathy.
- Develop, lead, and participate in activities for a wide range of interests and abilities, including arts and crafts, games, exercise programs, music sessions, outings, holidays, and special events.
- Encourage residents’ participation and social interaction during group activities.
- Monitor residents’ behaviors and activity outcomes to support positive feedback and engagement.
- Provide individualized attention and plan activities based on residents’ needs or interests, honoring residents’ requests.
