About The Position

Heather Heights is hiring a full-time Recreation Aide for 30 hours per week or a part-time Recreation Aide for 20 hours per week. The role includes working every other weekend. The Recreation Aide leads and participates in activities that support residents’ interests, abilities, social interaction, and engagement, while respecting their needs and limitations.

Responsibilities

• Interact with residents and understand their needs and limitations with respect and empathy.
• Develop, lead, and participate in diverse activities for a range of interests and abilities, including arts and crafts, games, exercise programs, music sessions, outings, holidays, and special events.
• Encourage residents’ participation and social interaction during group activities.
• Monitor residents’ behaviors and activity outcomes to support positive feedback and engagement.
• Provide individual attention and plan activities based on residents’ needs or interests, honoring their requests.
