About The Position

The Recreation Aid supports the Fitness/Wellness area and reports to the Fitness/Wellness Manager or supervisor on duty; the posting also states that the role reports to the Office Manager or supervisor on duty. The employee assists with daily patron supervision and safety, enforces facility and fitness/wellness room rules, and performs duties assigned by the manager or supervisor. Work takes place indoors.

Requirements

• At least an 8th-grade education.
• Ability to use auditory and visual capacities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, and adjust focus.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance for extended periods.
• Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Ability to continually lift 50 pounds or more.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of experience in fitness-related work.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily supervision of facility patrons and help ensure their safety by enforcing facility rules and regulations.
• Ensure patrons follow the rules specific to the fitness/wellness room.
• Launder, store, and stock cleaning supplies for the wellness room.
• Clean and maintain fitness and cardio equipment daily.
• Clean and maintain other equipment and areas in the wellness area, including windows, mirrors, and floors.
• Conduct fitness orientations for members and non-members.
• Perform other assigned duties, which may include equipment maintenance, facility tours, cleaning, and rule enforcement.
• Respond to citizen complaints or inquiries about facility operations and programs.
