About The Position

Design Interactive is building a talent pipeline in support of the SOCOM Enterprise Knowledge Management (EKM) proposal effort. The anticipated Records Management Specialist position will support the program in the functional area described below. Employment is contingent upon contract award, final Government requirements, funding, and candidate qualification for the Journeyman (JM) labor level. Work location, travel, schedule, citizenship, and clearance requirements remain to be confirmed. This role processes physical and electronic records under approved retention schedules and procedures, supporting classification, disposition, digitization, discovery, migration, and audit readiness.

Requirements

  • Experience processing physical or electronic records under retention and disposition requirements.
  • Knowledge of classification, indexing, metadata, quality inspection, and audit support.
  • Ability to document decisions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and written communication.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in the functional area and a bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to the functional area.
  • Six (6) years of additional work experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree, or four (4) years of additional work experience plus a relevant associate’s degree may substitute for the bachelor’s degree.

  • Experience with records requests, audits, digitization, migration, discovery, or legal holds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform records intake, review, classification, indexing, metadata application, disposition processing, and quality inspection.
  • Prepare records for digitization; perform or oversee scanning; validate output for completeness and legibility.
  • Apply retention and disposition direction and document processing decisions.
  • Identify misfiled, unscheduled, or improperly classified material and coordinate resolution.
  • Respond to records requests and support inventories and audits.
  • Support electronic discovery, legal-hold application and release, and validation of migrated records.
  • Independently perform support tasks.
  • Support assigned tasks and lead junior or apprentice-level support personnel.
