About The Position

This National Guard position is for a RECORDS AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (KNOWLEDGE), Position Description Number T5551000 and is part of the KS 190 Air Refueling Wing, 190th ARW Kansas Air National Guard, Topeka, KS, Kansas Air National Guard. The role involves working with non-homogenous work centers throughout the wing to integrate planning, development, and implementation of knowledge programs and systems. It requires applying enterprise processes and technologies to capture, store, organize, share, and control tacit and explicit knowledge, and implementing Continuous Process Improvement techniques to enhance mission and business processes. The specialist will use various software to improve access to relevant cross-functional information and provide training to managers and end-users on knowledge management principles, costs, and benefits. Additionally, the role includes administering Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) to facilitate knowledge management and collaboration by developing, designing, and maintaining websites, providing EIS web management and administrative support, and ensuring all site content adheres to applicable policies and standards. Training, consultation, and instruction will be provided to end-users on database and file management techniques.

Requirements

  • Must have clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to perform records information management work which includes planning, controlling, directing, organizing, training, promoting, and other activities involved with respect to records.
  • Must have at least one year experience equivalent to the next lower level skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature.
  • Must have knowledge of the theory and principles of management and organization, including administrative practices and procedures common to organizations, delegation of authority, routing of correspondence, filing systems, and storage of files and records.
  • Must possess a secret clearance and may be required to obtain a top secret clearance with eligibility to access sensitive compartmented information (TS-SCI) within one year of appointment.
  • Must be registered under the Military Selective Service Act (if applicable).
