About The Position

Hall in Virginia Beach is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Automotive Mechanic for its fast-paced Reconditioning Center. The role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining used vehicles to ensure they meet retail standards. A particular emphasis is placed on thoroughly inspecting engines and transmissions to confirm they are sound and ready for retail sale. The position works with a reconditioning team to process vehicles efficiently and on schedule. The posting highlights that the role does not require Saturday work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 4 years of experience as an automotive mechanic or technician.
• Strong expertise in diagnosing engine and transmission performance.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and shop management software.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Valid driver's license, with no more than two moving violations in the last 3 years.

Nice To Haves

• Technical school certification preferred.
• ASE Certification or equivalent is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic tests on engines and transmissions to verify reliability and retail readiness.
• Inspect vehicles to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
• Diagnose and repair automotive systems, including brakes, suspension, steering, and engines.
• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid top-offs.
• Accurately document repairs, materials used, and time spent on each vehicle.
• Collaborate with the reconditioning team to process vehicles efficiently and on schedule.
