About The Position

The Receptionist receives and assists patients and visitors, answers telephone calls, and organizes appointments. The role helps facilitate patient care by carrying out receptionist responsibilities professionally, efficiently, and accurately. The position serves Singing River Surgical Services in Ocean Springs and Pascagoula and works Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The job description notes that responsibilities and working conditions may be revised and that other tasks may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Complete the appropriate level of de-escalation training by the end of the 90-day position orientation.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, speaking, and enunciation skills.
• Demonstrate keen assessment and decision-making abilities, emotional stability, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Show attention to detail and the ability to multitask in complex situations.
• Maintain collaborative and respectful working relationships with SRHS and other organizations.
• Possess superior customer service skills and professional etiquette.
• Be proficient with computers, including keyboarding, and office technology such as telephones and fax machines.
• Be proficient in MS Outlook and Word.
• Demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and apply professional skills to patients of all ages.
• Be able to work schedules assigned, with possible changes to days off, shifts, or weekends according to hospital needs.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a clerical or secretarial role in a healthcare-related setting is preferred.
