The Bedford-Stuyvesant Family Health Center (BSFHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that serves all of the primary health care needs of families in the heart of North and Central Brooklyn. We are seeking a Receptionist/Switchboard Operator to join our team.

Requirements

HS/GED; Experience could replace education requirements
Strong proficiency in MS Office Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Excellent interpersonal skills must demonstrate professionalism, courteous and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, team members, families and significant others
Display courtesy, tact and patience with all members of the team members and extended community

Responsibilities

Answer high-volume calls on a multi-line phone system; screens and directs calls, takes detailed messages and/or forwards telephone calls to appropriate physician or team member.
Schedules patient appointments.
Accurately enters and verifies demographic and insurance information in the EMR.
Meet and greet patients with positive attitude.
Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to prepare and forwarding mail, scanning, photocopying, and faxing as required.
Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues, comply with HIPPA rules and regulations
Collaborate with clinical staff to support communication needs and ensure patients receive timely responses
Performs other related duties as assigned by physician, supervisor, or management.
