About The Position

The Receiving Coordinator is responsible for all activities on the receiving dock, including scheduling appointments, unloading, receiving, identification, inspection, and put away of new receipts and customer/vendor returns. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to customer requirements. The position also involves providing accurate and effective customer service via phone and email, maintaining inventory according to company policies, managing the inbound receipt auditing process, recognizing quality issues, and acting as a backup Quality Assurance Inspector. The coordinator will escalate safety, quality, and operational issues as they arise and must meet or exceed productivity standards and participate in all provided training.

Requirements

  • Prior experience receiving and returns.
  • Familiar with inventory and warehouse management concepts and systems.
  • Able to distinguish colors and patterns (not color blind).
  • Strong math skills.
  • Able to lift to 30 lbs.
  • Able to push and pull rolling carts and pallet jacks.
  • Able to stand/walk up to 8 hours per day.
  • Excellent computer skills, preferably in an AS400 or Infor environment.
  • Must be able to use MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • OSHA Forklift Certified (Sit-down forklift, man-up Order Picker)
  • Outstanding follow-up skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator.
  • Effective use and management of time to accomplish goals and tasks.
  • Detail-oriented. Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task, but can move very quickly.
  • Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor under pressure, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to build an excellent rapport with fellow employees and customers.
  • Dependable, good work ethic, excellent attitude, and inclination to exceed daily goals.
  • Acts with a sense of urgency, multitasks, and can remain focused in a hectic environment.
  • A sense of urgency while researching thoroughly and providing regular proactive updates so customers are well informed and updated regarding all open issues and pending orders.

Responsibilities

  • All activities on the receiving dock, including scheduling appointments, unloading, receiving, identification, inspection, and put away of new receipts and customer/vendor returns, accurately, efficiently, and according to customer requirements.
  • Providing accurate and effective customer service for all internal and external customers over the phone and via email in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.
  • Maintaining inventory accurately and according to company policies.
  • Manage inbound receipt auditing process
  • Recognizing quality issues.
  • Act as backup Quality assurance inspector
  • Escalating safety, quality, and any other issues that may arise during the operation.
  • Meet or exceed any productivity standards.
  • Participate in all provided training.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
  • Safely operates any equipment, including, but not limited to, forklifts, man-up Order Picker, voice, or RF picking equipment. Able to operate at heights of ~25’ high.
  • Processes inbound receipts/transfers/returns according to established department policies and procedures.
  • Assures all receipts/transfers/returns are processed, per customer’s specifications, within Service Level Agreements (SLA) (Dock To Stock).
  • Partners with the internal teams, as needed, to meet and exceed customers’ service expectations.
  • Provides timely feedback to the company regarding service failures or customer concerns.
  • Maintains or exceeds the standards that have been set for the team, demonstrates commitment, and is accountable for results.
  • Works closely with the quality department to resolve disputed items/claims.
