About The Position

The Receiver is responsible for efficiently and accurately checking vendor deliveries and performing other assigned functions in accordance with company policies, helping ensure the shift supports the store’s financial interests. The role includes receiving merchandise, verifying invoices, processing credits, maintaining receiving records, and ensuring products are moved to appropriate storage or workload areas. The Receiver also follows security, safety, food safety, cleaning, and guest experience procedures, and may assist in other departments based on customer experience needs. The position is located at 5241 Northland Drive, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49525. The work takes place in a retail store environment with varied temperatures and exposure to outside weather conditions. Travel requirements vary by assignment.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Suggestive selling and knowledge of products.
• Detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Follow procedures when checking vendors in or out.
• Receive merchandise, check and verify invoices, process credits, and log transactions accurately according to company procedures.
• Promptly communicate to the Store Director problems or situations that may affect the integrity of the store or vendor.
• Ensure stock and products are taken to applicable storage or workload areas.
• Handle spoiled or damaged products according to established guidelines.
• Know product locations in the store to assist customers.
• Maintain receiving records and logs for internal audits.
• Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department.
• Follow policies and procedures relating to the security of the receiving door.
• Follow PPE and safety guidelines.
• Follow food safety and cleaning expectations.
• Follow guest experience guidelines.
• Perform tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs when assigned.
• Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
