About The Position

A Receiver handles receiving produce items in the store's backroom and ensures shipments are inspected, sorted, and stored. The role also tracks products that need to be stocked on shelves. Receivers help support Tony's Fresh Markets' focus on affordable, high-quality products and customer service, working with vendors, employees, customers, management, and delivery drivers.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of experience working in receiving.
Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.

Nice To Haves

Grocery retail background preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet vendors and build rapport with them.
Maintain a friendly, outgoing attitude through appropriate eye contact and body language.
Respond effectively to employees' and customers' questions.
Receive shipments and examine and inspect products for quality.
Fill orders by stocking items from the warehouse and stock shelves as needed.
Coordinate and facilitate shipment placement with the management team.
Document overages, damages, and shortages.
Communicate with truck delivery drivers about specific locations for proper and safe delivery.
Process returns and credits for incorrect or unsatisfactory items.
Perform basic department cleaning and upkeep.
Use handheld technology to scan items.
Follow safety and sanitation procedures to ensure quality service and products.
Operate power equipment, such as forklifts and/or pallet jacks, to move heavy materials.
Use a baler if required, provided the employee is at least 18 years old and properly trained.
Respond promptly and courteously to customer needs.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
