About The Position

This position is part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience. The Real Property Agent will negotiate contract terms for real property transactions, prepare sales contracts, and handle legal documents pertaining to these transactions. They will also meet with property owners to present and explain projects, make formal purchase offers, and coordinate closing transactions. The role involves performing title searches, reviewing plans, and preparing estimates of value and costs. Additionally, the agent will process requests and answer questions associated with county real property, and review subdivision, commercial site, and highway road plans, plats, and other legal documents for accuracy and compliance with county standards. Other work as required will also be performed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, real estate, business administration or a related field
  • Two years' experience in the acquisition, disposition or appraisal valuation of real property
  • An equivalent combination of education and training and experience
  • Current valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Driving record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months
  • Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview
  • Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date
  • Pre-employment drug testing
  • FBI criminal background check
  • Education/degree verification required
