The City of Sacramento is seeking a Real Property Agent II to join the Facilities and Real Property division of the Public Works Department. The Real Property Agent II is a member of the Real Estate Services Section which oversees the acquisition of real property and property rights, sales and leasing of City owned property, and provides support to other departments for any real property related projects. This is the journey level of the series. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the lower level class of Real Property Agent I, or, when filled from the outside, require prior experience in public agency and/or commercial real property appraisal, appraisal review, acquisition, relocation assistance, disposal/sale, title investigation, and leasing. Appointment to the higher class requires that the employee be performing substantially the full range of duties for the class and meet the qualification standards for the class. A Real Property Agent II works under general supervision and, within a framework of established procedures, and is expected to perform a variety of duties in the appraising and negotiating for the acquisition, disposal/sale, and leasing of real property interests related to public purposes with only occasional instruction or assistance. Adequate performance at this level requires the knowledge of departmental procedures and precedents and the ability to choose among a limited number of alternatives in solving routine problems. A Real Property Agent II is expected to work productively even in the absence of supervision. Work is normally reviewed on completion and for overall results. General supervision is provided by the Supervising Real Property Agent.
