About The Position

Manager – Real Property Tax at Modern Tax leads a dynamic team of Consultants to deliver top-tier property tax consulting services to our valued clients. As a Manager, you’ll oversee the entire appeals process for our clients—evaluating positions, making strategic calls, and negotiating reductions and settlements that align with their goals. You’ll also ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards, dive deep into tax research, review property valuations, and spearhead assessment appeals, including preparing for and supporting litigation when needed. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, accounting, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in property tax consulting, real estate, or a related field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of property tax laws, valuation methodologies, and appeal processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and property data.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to clients.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in [relevant software/tools, e.g., property tax management systems, MS Office Suite].

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Property Tax Consultant (CPTC) or related credential is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed property tax assessments and audits to identify opportunities for tax savings.
  • Analyze property tax valuations, ensuring accuracy and fairness, and identifying discrepancies.
  • Develop and execute strategies for property tax appeals, working with clients and authorities to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with clients to gather and review necessary documentation, including real estate holdings, valuations, and financial data.
  • Stay updated on property tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide informed advice and insights.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor for all real property tax matters.
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for clients, outlining strategies and potential savings.
  • Partner with Modern Tax Group’s leadership and sales teams to identify new opportunities and expand client services.
