About The Position

Orbital is hiring a Real Estate Attorney for its Legal Engineering team. Legal Engineers translate real estate legal expertise into workflows, knowledge bases, and evaluations that power Orbital’s AI platform. The role involves working alongside AI and software engineers, product managers, and designers to build AI workflows that reflect how real estate lawyers work and provide reliable outputs to clients. The successful candidate will apply commercial real estate expertise to automate legal workflows across acquisitions, leases, and title and survey analysis for Am Law 100 and Magic Circle firms. The role offers influence over product direction and implementation, and contributes to making real estate transactions faster, clearer, and less manual. Orbital describes itself as an AI platform for real estate legal work, trusted by more than 5,000 real estate professionals. The company has raised $75 million to date, including a $60 million Series B. Team members are expected to follow security policies, complete regular awareness training, and handle sensitive data in line with ISO 27001 standards. Background screening is required before starting.

  • High level of technology literacy and deep curiosity about applying large language models to real estate law, along with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset and bias toward action.
  • Clear communication skills, including explaining legal context to engineers and product managers who are not lawyers and engaging credibly with attorneys at leading firms.
  • Resourceful, analytical approach to solving problems without a script and comfort working in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift.
