About The Position

CapCenter is seeking a Real Estate Closing Attorney to combine legal expertise, operations leadership, compliance oversight, and client-facing closing work. This is not a traditional law firm role. The attorney will work with CapCenter’s mortgage, title, and real estate teams to deliver precise, professional closings and an exceptional client experience. The position also manages closing operations, advises internal teams on legal and compliance requirements, and reviews transaction files for quality and risk. The ideal candidate works effectively under pressure, supports and inspires a high-performing team, and is motivated to grow with CapCenter.

Requirements

• Active Virginia law license or eligibility for admission to the Virginia bar.
• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal and financial concepts clearly.
• High standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity.
• Enthusiasm for client service and commitment to an outstanding client experience.
• Ability to perform effectively in high-volume, deadline-driven work and manage multiple concurrent transactions.
• Keen attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and thoroughness.
• Willingness to develop deep expertise in local real estate and mortgage markets.
• Collaborative, growth-oriented mindset.
• Strong analytical skills, sound legal judgment, and interest in using a legal background to drive business results.

Nice To Haves

• Legal experience, preferably in real estate, mortgage lending, or a related transactional practice.
• A cover letter highlighting interest and relevant experience is strongly encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Conduct real estate closings and coordinate with mortgage, title, and real estate teams to ensure transactions are completed accurately and clients receive a professional, informed experience.
• Manage the day-to-day workflow of closing operations, keeping timelines on track and processes running smoothly.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and propose improvements to streamline workflows and support transparent client interactions.
• Advise mortgage production and closing teams on legal, title, and compliance requirements imposed by applicable laws and agencies throughout the transaction process.
• Review documentation across title, loan production, closing, and realty teams; identify risks and ensure files meet company standards before closing.
