About The Position

This is an open position with Potomac Edison, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. The Meter Reader accurately reads meters installed on customer premises, visually checks for and reports service diversion and metering irregularities, and delivers company notices. The role requires driving and walking safely in all types of weather and over all types of terrain. The employee must use an all-wheel- or four-wheel-drive vehicle to read meters and is eligible for mileage reimbursement. Overtime may be required as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid driver's license and an excellent driving record.
• Ability to safely drive and walk in all types of weather over all types of terrain.
• Must possess and use an all-wheel- or four-wheel-drive vehicle to read meters; eligible for mileage reimbursement.
• Ability to successfully deal with customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Work overtime as needed.
