About The Position

This is an open position with Potomac Edison, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. The Meter Reader accurately reads meters installed on customer premises, visually checks for and reports service diversion and metering irregularities, and delivers company notices. The hourly rate is $23.44. The role requires driving and walking in varied weather and terrain and using an all-wheel- or four-wheel-drive personal vehicle to read meters; mileage reimbursement is available.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid driver's license and excellent driving record.
• Ability to safely drive and walk in all types of weather over all types of terrain.
• Must possess and use an all-wheel- or four-wheel-drive vehicle to read meters.
• Ability to successfully deal with customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Accurately read meters installed on customer premises.
• Visually check for and report service diversion and metering irregularities.
• Deliver company notices.
• Work overtime as needed.
