About The Position
This position assists EXIT 318 Reentry program staff and serves as a liaison and mentor to program participants, supporting each individual’s successful re-entry into the community. The role requires personal lived experience with incarceration and may involve accessing locations at short notice, including places not accessible by public transportation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or HiSET equivalency.
- Personal lived experience with being incarcerated.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace, and Excel.
- Possess a privately owned vehicle, valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance, or be able to access locations at potentially short notice that may not be accessible by public transportation.
- Pass a background screening, driving record check, and reference checks as a condition of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of reentry and community resources.
- Peer Support Specialist training or certification through the Louisiana Department of Health.
