RAM RDA Process Engineer

Micron Technology•Boise, ID

About The Position

Micron Technology’s Realtime Defect Analysis (RDA) team is part of a global manufacturing organization focused on accelerating learning cycles, improving yield, and preventing defect-related excursions in high-volume manufacturing. The team works closely with manufacturing sites, process integration, process development, data science, and yield engineering teams to improve defect visibility and drive continuous process improvements across the network. As an RDA HVM Process Engineer, you will use advanced defect detection tools, data analysis, and engineering problem-solving techniques to identify process issues and improve manufacturing performance. The role offers opportunities to influence global operations, collaborate with international teams, and develop approaches for detecting and resolving defect-related challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret process and defect data.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across technical teams and contribute in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data analysis, scripting, programming, automation, or data science methodologies.
  • Demonstrated interest in investigating process anomalies, root cause analysis, and process improvement.
  • Experience with metrology, defect inspection, or Realtime Defect Analysis (RDA) processes.
  • Proven ability to balance flexibility and persistence while driving technical solutions and operational improvements.
  • Experience using AI-assisted analytics to enhance data interpretation, anomaly detection, and yield improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze process flows and inline defect data to identify anomalies and support tool qualification and containment actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through defect reduction, process optimization, and data-driven decision making.
  • Investigate process anomalies, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and apply inspection strategies, methodologies, and monitoring approaches to improve early defect detection.
  • Partner with global HVM manufacturing teams to establish best-known methods and maintain cross-site alignment.
