RD&D Operations Specialist (Hybrid)
About The Position
The RD&D Operations Specialist supports Lakeshore’s Research, Design & Development team by tracking processes, supporting cross-functional projects, and helping teams adopt new tools and ways of working. The role contributes to operational consistency and efficiency through project tracking, dashboards and reporting, process documentation, training coordination, and analysis of operational data. It also assists with change management initiatives, stakeholder alignment, issue resolution, and project risk mitigation. This is a hybrid role based out of Lakeshore’s Carson, California office.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in an operations, project coordination, or related role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills for data tracking and reporting.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain processes and updates to varied audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while remaining organized and detail-oriented.
- Ask questions when something is unclear and use feedback to improve work.
- Consistently follow through on commitments.
- Remain calm and adaptable when priorities shift or projects encounter challenges.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Workfront or a similar project management platform.
- Exposure to product development or a cross-functional creative or RD&D environment.
- Familiarity with process documentation or creating standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Responsibilities
- Track operational project progress, maintain dashboards and reports, and document process steps to promote consistency and efficiency.
- Help coordinate and deliver training on new processes, technologies, and expectations.
- Analyze operational data using Excel and reporting skills to identify insights and improvement opportunities.
- Assist cross-functional teams with change management initiatives by aligning stakeholders, facilitating discussions, resolving project challenges, and keeping projects on schedule.
- Provide the Operations Manager with regular updates on milestones and performance insights, and proactively identify tactics and mitigation plans for project risks.
