About The Position

The Rail Crew member operates forklifts and trucks to transport customer orders and load them onto railcars using pneumatic and gas-powered tools. The role includes inspecting, operating, and maintaining tools and equipment, following safety instructions and rail-operation regulations, and keeping the rail area clean and orderly. Team members also assist with general yard and mill work and promptly communicate issues, incidents, malfunctions, or hazards. This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule that includes weekends, evenings, and holidays. Work takes place outdoors in a rail yard, with exposure to varying weather, dust, and noise. The role involves standing, lifting, using tools, and working at heights in a fast-paced, safety-conscious, team-oriented setting.

Requirements

Complete all required safety and compliance training.
Safely operate pneumatic and gas-powered tools.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Prior experience in a rail yard, warehouse, or industrial setting.
Forklift operation experience.
Familiarity with railcar loading standards, including AAR guidelines.

Responsibilities

Operate forklifts and trucks to transport customer orders and load them onto railcars using pneumatic and gas-powered tools.
Inspect, operate, and maintain tools and equipment, and promptly report malfunctions or hazards.
Follow Safe Job Instructions (SJIs), AAR loading guidelines, and federal, state, and local rail-operation regulations.
Maintain a clean and orderly rail area and assist with general yard and mill work as needed.
Communicate with supervisors and team members and immediately report issues, incidents, or hazards.
