About The Position

The Student Technologists are responsible for performing high quality radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures under the supervision of a Registered Technologist and qualified Physician for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases. The student technologist will conduct the procedures according to department protocols and followed established radiation safety guidelines. The student technologist provides direct patient care for all ages of patients. The student technologist is to provide excellent service that is to treat every patient with respect, courtesy and explain the exam to the patient. The student technologist must be able to work together with others providing a positive work environment. The student technologist is responsible to provide a safe environment for the patients, fellow employees and themselves. Requirements

  • Enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program (Required within 6 months of graduation from the Radiology Technology Program)
  • Has successfully completed 75% of competencies required for graduation from a JRCERT accredited facility (Validated from Program Instructor)
  • On track to graduate from a JRCERT facility within 6 months (Validated from Program Instructor)
  • 0 - 1 year Working in a Radiology department in a hospital environment
  • Have near normal vision - Clarity of vision (both near and far), ability to distinguish colors
  • Have good - manual dexterity and eye-hand-foot coordination
  • Ability to perform - repetitive tasks/motion

  • Performing other duties as required and completing all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs).
  • Attending staff meetings and completing mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
  • Demonstrating competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
  • Wearing protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
