About The Position

The Radiology Manager manages and coordinates the delivery of health care services in diagnostic imaging at Riddle Hospital. This role will develop, coordinate, and monitor the implementation of policies and procedures within the imaging department. Some of the areas involved in this process include departmental practices, staffing patterns and training, equipment, and supply purchases, contractual services, and capital acquisitions.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited Radiology or Imaging program
  • Bachelor's degree or 5 years relevant Imaging experience
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (R) , Nuclear Medicine, or Sonography required upon hire
  • Minimum 3 years recent supervisory experience required
  • Supervisory experience in an outpatient facility preferred

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and monitors capital equipment needs and modifications to existing equipment. Coordinates acquisitions and monitors the related installation. Participates in planning meetings for construction projects.
  • Implements departmental changes, recommendation process improvement plans to achieve goals/objectives.
  • Assumes the direct responsibility for assuring that all equipment is adequately maintained.
  • Collaborates with financial staff to code and charge to assure correct reimbursement for radiologic services.
  • Oversees the hiring, orientation and evaluation of new employees.
  • Prepares, evaluates, and monitors hospital budgets for the following financial disbursements: Capital Equipment Expenditures, FTE Allocation, and Operating Expenses. Prepares documents, gathers data, and analyzes the results to explain variances as required. Oversees employee payroll and other related expense reports.
  • Assures the safe operation of the departments with respect to radiation safety, hazardous materials, fire safety, infection control, hazard surveillance and equipment maintenance.
  • Assures compliance with Environmental of Care and Continuous Survey Readiness rounds for Joint Commission Preparedness.
  • Oversees the department Improvement Plans for both MLH divisions while continually educating the staff regarding the principles of quality assessment and statistical control. Facilitates team improvement activities and serves as a resource for improving departmental processes.
  • In conjunction with MLH Administration and Medical Directors develops and maintains MLH Radiology goals and strategic plan objectives.
