About The Position

The Radiology Aide assists radiology technologists and radiologists with a variety of tasks, helps ensure equipment is functioning properly, and supports a safe and comfortable patient environment during imaging procedures. The role involves preparing patients and imaging equipment, helping position and transport patients, assisting with image processing and documentation, and keeping track of department supplies. This position requires patient care and is onsite at Newton-Wellesley Hospital.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and the radiology team.
Attention to detail for accurate recordkeeping and patient safety.
Ability to perform physical tasks that may include lifting and moving patients and standing for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

0–1 year of experience in a hospital or managed care setting.
0–1 year of radiology experience.
Familiarity with medical terminology and basic knowledge of radiology equipment and procedures.

Responsibilities

Greet and prepare patients for radiology procedures, explain the imaging process, and answer questions.
Prepare and arrange radiology equipment, including X-ray machines, CT scanners, MRI machines, and ultrasound devices.
Help position patients on imaging tables or in appropriate standing or sitting positions to obtain clear, accurate images.
Assist technologists with image processing, including labeling and organizing digital images and transferring them to PACS.
Transport patients to and from the radiology department while ensuring their safety and comfort.
Keep track of department supplies, including contrast agents, gowns, and other necessary items.
Maintain accurate records of patient procedures for medical records and billing purposes.
Assist radiology technologists and radiologists with various tasks and help ensure equipment functions properly.
Provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients during imaging procedures.
