About The Position

Bronson Healthcare is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Radiation Oncologist to join its cancer team at the Bronson Battle Creek Cancer Care Center. The accredited center provides comprehensive community cancer care and is part of the Michigan Cancer Consortium, which helps patients access national cancer studies while remaining in their communities. The practice offers care spanning prevention, detection, and treatment, with regular tumor boards and opportunities to support community-based clinical research. This is a hospital-employed, mainly outpatient position with an FTE ranging from 0.6 to 1.0. The physician joins a team that includes another Radiation Oncologist, four Medical Oncologists/Hematologists, an advanced practice provider, and clinical staff supporting nurse navigation, survivorship, social work, nutrition, and palliative care. The center has an excellent referral base and onsite medical oncology support. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with call shared equally among the physicians on the team. The candidate should be proficient in IGRT, IMRT, SRS, SBRT, HDR brachytherapy, and radioisotope therapy. The practice uses two Varian linear accelerators, a GE simulator, and Aria and EPIC as its official EMR systems. The physician provides and documents patient care, evaluates and treats clinical patients, educates patients and families, orders studies and ancillary services, prescribes treatment, determines referrals and follow-up urgency, and exercises medical judgment. The role also includes collaboration with other professionals, participation in improvement and continuing education programs, oversight of assigned mid-level and nursing staff, and assistance with patient concerns. The position requires maintaining medical staff privileges and protecting patient confidentiality. Bronson describes its culture as committed to equal access to healthy lives, belonging, respect, trust, addressing unjust conditions, removing barriers to care, and reducing health disparities.
