About The Position

The Radiation Oncologist provides clinical radiation oncology services in an outpatient clinic in Fargo, North Dakota. The role is locum-to-permanent, with coverage beginning January 4, 2027, and continuing ongoing while a long-term permanent search is underway. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a one-hour lunch; the position is full-time and clinical only. The physician provides consultations, treatment planning, treatment delivery, and follow-up care. The clinic averages 12–15 patients daily, with approximately 20–25 patients under treatment each day. The facility uses Epic and has four exam rooms, 1.8 RN support, three office staff, two full-time physicists, and one full-time medical dosimetrist. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered by the agency.

Requirements

Board certified or board eligible in radiation oncology.
Hold an active North Dakota license or be willing to obtain one.
Proficiency with a linear accelerator, RapidArc/VMAT, electrons, conventional/conformal therapy, IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, all types of SRS, conventional treatment planning, MLC beam shaping, 3D CRT, PET/CT or MRI image fusion, electronic portal imaging (EPI), and clinical trials.

Nice To Haves

Experience with altered fractionation, including SBRT and SRS.

Responsibilities

Provide radiation oncology services in an outpatient clinic, including patient consultations, treatment planning, and follow-up care.
Manage daily treatment delivery for approximately 20–25 patients under treatment and see 12–15 clinic patients per day.
Use advanced radiation techniques including IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, SRS, and VMAT/RapidArc.
Collaborate with the physics team to ensure accurate treatment planning and delivery.
Participate in clinical trials.
Maintain proficiency in electronic portal imaging (EPI), PET/CT or MRI image fusion, and 3D conformal therapy.
