Radiation Oncologist
About The Position
Locum tenens Radiation Oncologist providing clinical-only coverage in Laredo, Texas, from November 16, 2026, through November 25, 2026. The role covers outpatient and inpatient services and is for supplemental coverage. Average daily patient volume is 25, with rounding on assigned patients. Hospital privileges are required, and temporary privileges are available. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered. The facility uses Athena and Cerner EMR systems. Support staff include one RN, one MA, and four office staff members. Required procedures include linear accelerator, Rapid Arc/VMAT, electrons, conventional/conformal therapy, IMRT, IGRT, hyper-altered fractionation, conventional treatment planning, beam shaping (MLC), 3D CRT, and PET CT or MRI image fusion.
Requirements
- Board certified.
- Active Texas license or Universal License (IMLC).
- BLS certification.
- Hospital privileges are required; temporary privileges are available.
- Proficiency with the listed required procedures: linear accelerator, Rapid Arc/VMAT, electrons, conventional/conformal therapy, IMRT, IGRT, hyper-altered fractionation, conventional treatment planning, beam shaping (MLC), 3D CRT, and PET CT or MRI image fusion.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical radiation oncology coverage in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Round on assigned patients.
- Perform the required radiation oncology procedures and treatment planning.
