About The Position

Provide radiation oncology care in an outpatient locum tenens role in Duluth, Minnesota. Coverage begins January 4, 2027, and continues ongoing. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with Tuesday reserved as the locum’s OTV day. Coverage is clinical only. The average daily volume is 10–16 patients under treatment per physician, with a case mix spanning inpatient and outpatient radiation oncology. The agency covers travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance.

The position is supported by a full specialty team, including 4.0 FTE radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, and therapists, as well as two RNs, one MA, and three office staff. Hospital privileges are required. The facility uses Epic and ARIA EMR and has Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators and a Siemens Go Open Pro CT scanner.

Requirements

• Board certified or board eligible.
• Active Minnesota license or willingness to obtain one.
• BLS certification.
• Proficiency in Epic, Varian ARIA, Eclipse, and Varian TrueBeam.
• Ability to provide team-based care and collaborate.
• Hospital privileges are required.
• Required procedural proficiency: linear accelerator; Rapid Arc/VMAT; electrons; conventional/conformal therapy; intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT); image guided radiation therapy (IGRT); stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT); all types of stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS); conventional treatment planning; beam shaping (MLC); 3D CRT; PET-CT or MRI image fusion; and electronic portal imaging (EPI).

Responsibilities

• Provide radiation oncology consultations, follow-up visits, and CT simulation orders.
• Develop and approve treatment plans, including IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, and SRS.
• Perform inpatient and outpatient consultations and manage patient care.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary oncology team, including physicists, dosimetrists, and therapists.
• Participate in chart rounds, peer rounds, and tumor conferences.
