About The Position

The Quality Technician tests and inspects materials, products, and processes at various stages of production in a precast concrete manufacturing environment. The role performs inspections before, during, and after production to meet quality requirements; records production and quality information; and identifies issues and improvement opportunities. The position is permanent and full-time, with a stated schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and weekends. The posting lists a pay rate of $24.00 per hour. Requirements

Able to work in all weather conditions with little to no climate control and regular exposure to dust, dirt, noise, vibrations, varying lighting conditions, stairs, and narrow walkways.
Able to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds; walk, climb, bend, reach, use hand tools with force, maintain spatial awareness and depth perception, and communicate effectively in a busy industrial environment.
Problem-solving ability and strong attention to detail.
Basic PC skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to read blueprints and/or production drawings.
Ability to perform analytical and mathematical functions.
Basic understanding of test measurements.
Ability to work well with others and maintain professional conduct.
Ability to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe work environment and follow published and posted safety policies.
Perform pre-manufacture inspections and inspections during and after production to meet quality requirements.
Accurately enter production and quality data into the computer system.
Identify, document, and report quality problems to Production or Quality Management.
Look for opportunities to improve materials, processes, and products.
Maintain cleanliness of the lab, testing areas, and equipment.
Lead by example by demonstrating honesty, integrity, work ethic, and respect for others.
Treat production and yard teams as customers by conducting timely inspections of products and processes.
Work collaboratively as a team player.
Pursue continuous learning and develop other employees’ technical knowledge.
