Quality Technician III - Liquid Cooling
About The Position
Jabil is seeking a Quality Technician to perform advanced quality assurance activities for liquid cooling systems at its Florence, Kentucky location, Building 100. The role ensures products meet Jabil quality standards and customer specifications through testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and process improvement. The technician conducts functional and reliability tests on liquid cooling components and assemblies, performs in-process and final inspections, uses precision measurement and specialized test equipment, analyzes quality data, and supports quality documentation and audits. The position also collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, and design teams to improve product quality and reliability, and assists in training junior quality technicians.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in quality assurance or manufacturing, specifically in liquid cooling systems, HVAC, or a related field involving fluid dynamics and thermal management.
- Strong understanding of quality control methodologies, including statistical process control, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions such as 8D and 5 Whys.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Advanced experience with precision measurement tools and equipment.
- Familiarity with liquid cooling principles, including heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and common system components.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues in liquid cooling systems.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration and report generation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Nice To Haves
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in a technical field, such as Mechanical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Experience with statistical software such as Minitab and Quality Management Systems software.
- ASQ certification, such as CQIA or CQT.
Responsibilities
- Conduct complex functional and reliability testing of liquid cooling components and assemblies, including pumps, cold plates, radiators, and plumbing.
- Perform in-process and final inspections to verify conformance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Use precision measurement tools and equipment, including calipers, micrometers, pressure gauges, flow meters, and thermal imaging cameras.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose quality issues, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and design teams on process improvements and design changes to enhance product quality and reliability.
- Develop and revise inspection procedures, test plans, and work instructions.
- Assist in training junior quality technicians on quality procedures and best practices.
- Participate in internal and external audits to support compliance with quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
- Analyze quality data, generate reports, track trends, identify improvement areas, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Operate and maintain specialized test equipment and environmental chambers for liquid cooling applications.
