About The Position

The Quality Lead will assist management in ensuring work orders are completed according to production schedules and customer requirements. This role involves performing production operations as needed to maintain workflow, cover breaks and absences, and meet production deadlines. The Quality Lead will monitor production activities, adjust work assignments based on production demands, staffing levels, or other constraints, and ensure all work adheres to current quality standards, work instructions, and operating procedures. Key responsibilities include verifying accurate documentation, monitoring and updating production boards, communicating production status, and assisting with inspections. The role also involves identifying and resolving production, quality, and safety concerns, promoting root cause analysis, and developing continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, the Quality Lead will ensure safety policies are followed, assist with training and documentation, provide feedback on employee performance, and serve as a resource for team members.

Requirements

HS diploma or GED required.
Minimum 1 year experience in Quality inspection required.
Basic blueprint reading skills required.
Basic computer skills
Basic reading skills
Basic arithmetic skills
Time management skills including meeting deadlines for OTD.
Ability to successfully work independently

Responsibilities

Perform production operations as needed to maintain workflow, cover breaks and absences, and meet production deadlines.
Monitor production activities and assist with adjusting work assignments based on production demands, staffing levels, or other constraints.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with current quality standards, work instructions, and operating procedures.
Verify that accurate documentation is being used and completed correctly and in a timely manner.
Monitor and update production boards and communicate production status, issues, and priorities to management and team members.
Assist in ensuring all the inspections are being performed per applicable specifications, rules, processes, and procedures.
Identify production, quality, and safety concerns and take appropriate action to resolve issues or escalate them to management when necessary.
Promote and lead the use of disciplined root cause analysis to identify and address recurring problems.
Develop, track, and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, cost reduction, and on-time delivery.
Ensure all safety policies, procedures, and protocols are strictly followed and actively promote a safe work environment.
Assist with training, cross-training, and documentation of training to ensure employees have the knowledge and skills required to perform their jobs safely and effectively.
Provide regular feedback to management regarding employee performance, attendance, productivity, and training needs.
Serve as a resource for team members by answering questions, resolving issues, and promoting teamwork and accountability on the shift.
