Quality Intern
About The Position
The Quality Intern supports the Quality Department and contributes to overall process and product quality across areas that may include suppliers, testing, manufacturing, sales floor, control testing, exercising, pre-shipment, deprocessing, customer fielding, and service and warranty. The role works with Quality Department staff and is expected to maintain a professional and cooperative attitude while helping ensure products meet customer expectations. The intern helps maintain and improve quality documentation, address nonconformances, solve quality-related problems, and support supplier quality and process control. The position also involves collaboration with internal teams, participation in meetings and audits, and accurate maintenance of company records in accordance with policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Be a student working toward a bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Operations Management/Business Administration, or a related field for the entire duration of the internship.
- Have completed at least sophomore-year coursework or equivalent.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
Responsibilities
- Maintain positive, professional working relationships with customers.
- Support Quality Department staff.
- Review and update quality documentation.
- Participate in group and team meetings.
- Communicate with internal teams to correct and prevent quality issues.
- Assist with problem solving and implementing solutions to quality-related problems.
- Assist staff with disposition of defective material.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Assist in supplier quality and process control.
- Report and respond to quality process nonconformance issues in an expedient manner.
- Work across Quality and Manufacturing to resolve quality-related issues.
- Proactively complete assigned tasks and complete additional advanced training as required.
- Accurately maintain company records and documents in accordance with policies and procedures.
